Great things happened at this
week’s Youth Leadership Association meeting! Our students held a discussion
based on the first chapter of the book 7
Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey and did a fun and
interactive activity on paradigms. To encourage the students to be actively
involved in their communities, Gladys Sanchez, a YLA member also did a
presentation on her recent experience in a three-week medical program at the
Saint Louis University in Missouri and her upcoming participating in the CHCI
R2L NextGen Program in Washington, DC.
Additionally, Public Housing Supervisor Liz Hernandez announced the
schedule for the Summer Activities that will be offered July 6 through August 6
and invited the YLA members to volunteer. Our agency is excited for the turnout of this
week’s meeting and looks forward to many more this summer.
